Adriafil Yarns – Unboxing New Yarn for Autumn Crochet

This time, in the Povídání u klubíčka podcast, we will focus on yarns from the Italian brand Adriafil, available from the Klubíčka od srdíčka online shop. Together, we will unbox several yarns ideal for autumn projects, look at their fibre content, yardage and properties, and explore which crochet projects each yarn could be best suited for.

Adriafil is a traditional Italian family company with a history dating back to 1911. Building on more than a century of experience in yarn production, the brand offers a wide range of materials – from soft merino yarns and cotton-wool blends to distinctive novelty yarns with unusual textures or a touch of shine. First, let’s take a look at ADRIAFIL ZUCCHERO FILATO. Each ball weighs 50 g and contains 175 m of yarn. The fibre content is 50% cotton, 32% wool and 18% alpaca. Thanks to the cotton, the yarn remains light, while the wool and alpaca add pleasant warmth. Another interesting feature is the bicolour effect, which gives the finished project a beautiful look even when using a simple stitch pattern. Zucchero Filato is suitable for lightweight sweaters, vests, cardigans, scarves or throws. I especially like the idea of using it for an airy lace vest or cardigan, where both the stitch pattern and the colour effect of the yarn would stand out beautifully. I will definitely choose a larger crochet hook so the yarn can open up nicely. You can find both variegated and solid colour options here.

The next yarn is ADRIAFIL ABRACADABRA, which also comes in 50 g balls with a length of 175 m. Its fibre content is 45% acrylic, 19% wool, 14% polyamide, 13% polyester and 9% metallised fibre. At first glance, it catches the eye with its light, fluffy texture and delicate halo. The metallised fibre adds a subtle lamé effect and a gentle shimmer. Thanks to its structure, it can create a voluminous yet lightweight fabric. I can easily imagine using it for an airy lace cardigan, a lightweight sweater, a long vest or a scarf. With this yarn, I would choose a simpler or more open stitch pattern so that the texture of the yarn itself can really stand out. Abracadabra is also currently on sale. The third yarn is ADRIAFIL DOLCEZZA BABY. Each ball weighs 25 g and contains 130 m of yarn, and it is made from 100% superwash merino wool. It is a very soft and lightweight yarn, perfect for projects where we want a cosy and comfortable fabric without unnecessary weight. It is ideal for baby sweaters, hats, blankets and other smaller projects, but I certainly would not limit it only to baby items. Thanks to its softness and generous yardage, it could also be beautiful for lightweight women’s sweaters, shawls or vests. A hat, scarf or throw made from this yarn would keep you wonderfully warm. As a little surprise, I also received a KnitPro Lantern Moon crochet hook made from lightweight ebony wood. The hook is incredibly stylish and smooth, 15 cm long, with a sharp tip, a comfortable thumb rest and a truly exclusive look. Different sizes are available here. In the video, I am using the 7 mm size, and I have to say that I would never have guessed it was that large.

These three yarns are a perfect example of just how different products from a single brand can be.
