Christmas is just around the corner, and it’s time to start making decorations, small gifts, and festive ornaments. The Christmas edition of ONA VÍ magazine is packed with ideas for crochet, knitting, sewing, embroidery, patchwork, and bobbin lace. What caught my attention this time were the beautiful photos of Christmas decorations, unusual combinations of crafting techniques, and small projects that we can still finish before Christmas. Crochet Coffee Coaster – I Tried It for You!
I came across a pattern for a crochet Christmas ornament that can also be used as a coffee coaster. I liked the idea so much that I decided to give it a try! I used YarnArt Iris yarn and a 1.5 mm crochet hook, and the whole project took me approximately 45 minutes. I made a few small adjustments to the pattern to prevent the coaster from curling and help it lie nice and flat on the table. You could easily make several of these coasters. They’re perfect for decorating your Christmas table or giving as small handmade gifts. They look beautiful even without starching, but if you’d like to stiffen them, I recommend Alba Efekt starch. I’ve had the best results with it. I use it diluted with just a tiny drop of water.
