Oversized fit, floral stitch, and a soft, cozy yarn – this is the Perfetto sweater made from the new Perfetto Soft yarn.
When I first unwrapped the Perfetto Soft yarn cakes, I was pleasantly surprised by their softness and fluffiness. Thanks to the finer twist, the yarn feels light and airy, making it a joy to work with. One skein weighs 100 g and has a length of 235 meters, and the yarn is made of 100% acrylic. Perfetto Soft is therefore an ideal choice for anyone who cannot tolerate wool but still wants to wear warm garments from autumn to spring.
- PIN it for Later – Crochet Perfetto Sweater with Floral motif
For this project, I tested the combination of this yarn weight with a floral stitch made from double yarn-over long double crochet stitches. The result is a beautifully soft, lightweight, and unique sweater that pairs perfectly with both jeans and skirts. Perfetto Soft yarn is suitable for crocheted garments from autumn to spring, as well as for hats and scarves, soft blankets and pillows, and even toys. The yarn is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified.
Using this yarn, we also crocheted the Perfetto slouchy beanie, which perfectly complements the sweater.
VIDEO PATTERN PREMIERE December 24th, at 10:00 with English Subtitles
For the Perfetto sweater, we crochet the front and back panels separately, shaping them at the neckline. The work is done in rows, back and forth, using a floral stitch made of two double yarn-over long double crochet stitches worked together. In this yarn, the stitch pattern also resembles small snowflakes, giving the sweater a delicate and original look during this season.
Once the panels are finished, they are joined at the sides and shoulders, followed by crocheting the sleeves. These are worked in the floral stitch combined with long double crochet stitches, which gradually shape and taper the sleeve. Edges are finished with herringbone single crochet and single crochet worked through the back loop only. The result is an airy yet warm garment that can be comfortably crocheted even by confident beginners.
For the foundation chain, the number of stitches must be divisible by eight, with three additional stitches added. When using a different yarn or hook size, crocheting a gauge swatch first is recommended in order to calculate the correct number of pattern repeats for your size.
Tip: If you use two yarn colors and alternate them every two rows, you can create a beautiful two-color floral stitch pattern.
