The rainbow yarn cake Surprise Under the Christmas Tree that peeked out of the box is a three-strand yarn with a total yardage of 1200 meters. The center features a light lavender to lilac shade, which gradually transitions into creamy beige and cappuccino tones. A fine white lunar thread runs through the entire yarn cake, giving the yarn a soft, elegant sheen.

With this yardage, you can crochet a sweater, skirt, dress, or tunic. If you choose an airy stitch pattern, the yarn cake will even be sufficient for a lightweight dress to wear over swimwear.

As a gift, we also received a scrap yarn holder, which is a very clever and practical accessory. Any leftover yarn can be wound onto the holder and stored neatly in a box, making it easy to keep even small remnants well organized.

Another new item I definitely recommend checking out is PF 2026. This is also a three-strand yarn, with a standard yardage of 1000 meters, made from a 50% cotton and 50% acrylic blend. The color gradient starts with a light creamy white center, gradually develops into a soft icy turquoise, and finishes with deeper blue-green to petrol tones at the outer edge.

In the desk calendar, I recommend flipping to May. There you’ll find the rainbow yarn cake Buena Vida, inspired by the Desigual 2025 clothing collection. The yarn features gentle transitions of summer colors and can be beautifully complemented with a white lunar thread.

From the Buena Vida yarn cake, I created both a dress and a tunic. The dress is worn over a T-shirt with leggings, while the tunic works perfectly over swimwear. The tunic is crocheted using a pattern from a book published in 1914, giving it a lovely vintage feel.
