Custom yarn cakes, colorful new arrivals, and anniversary collections of rainbow yarns from Hravá klubka. Take a look inside.

In episode 120 of the podcast Povídání u klubíčka, we unboxed a large box of rainbow yarn cakes from the Hravá klubka e-shop and flipped through Ona Ví magazine. The festive Christmas episode was a big hit, so let’s revisit it together and go through everything step by step. Some of these yarn cakes are available only until the end of this year.

November and December were a time of celebration in the Hravá klubka e-shop. Ivanka celebrated the 5th anniversary of her rainbow yarn cakes, and I have to admit I often couldn’t resist—I fell in love with them and placed more than one order. So what ended up in my cart? For example, the “Méďa” collection. These rainbow yarn cakes are truly unique, and the entire collection is available only until the end of the year. You can choose beautifully fluffy and soft yarn cakes that resemble mohair, yet feel pleasantly gentle to the touch. They are 3-ply yarn cakes with a length of 1,000 m / 244 g. Two strands are a blend of 50% cotton and 50% acrylic, and one strand is composed of 60% polyacrylic, 30% polyamide, and 10% wool.

The yarn cakes come in solid colors—natural, gray, black, light pink, or dark pink—or in melange versions. Simply open the selection and choose your favorite. Two yarn cakes are enough for a sweater.

Another yarn cake I completely fell in love with is ČIRŮVKA with an irregular winding. You can choose either a classic rainbow version or a melange here. For blouses or tunics, I usually go for 1,250 m. It’s a 3-ply yarn cake, and I had a beige-gold lunar thread added to it, which gives it a beautifully festive look.

I was also captivated by ANNIVERSARY 2, a 3-ply yarn cake in gorgeous colors. I ordered 1,500 meters with an irregular winding, which is perfect for a sweater or a dress. The colors are simply stunning, and irregular windings are a true specialty of Hravá klubka. This yarn cake is available only until the end of the month here.

During the Christmas and work rush, I had a custom yarn cake designed in the 2026 color palette—green, gray, and soft pink. Ivanka is a true magician, and we named this yarn LESNÍ ROSA. I have 1,500 meters, and I still can’t decide whether it will become a lace sweater or a dress. This new yarn cake designed by Krampolinka is available here.

This year, I gave in to fashion trends and ordered a yarn cake in a black and yellow combination, a 3-ply yarn with a length of 1,500 meters. I’m planning to make a dress. This yarn comes from the Anniversary collection and is called ANNIVERSARY 7. It is available only until the end of the year here.

Another yarn from the five-year anniversary edition is ANNIVERSARY 14, a combination of pink and dark blue-black melanges with a variegated strand. I’m considering a square-motif sweater for this one, so we’ll see how I handle my 1,500 m yarn cake. This yarn is also available only until the end of the year here.

From the Hravá klubka meetup held in October in Telč, I brought home the yarn cake DMN 3007. An irregular winding, amazing colors, and my favorite 1,500 m 3-ply yarn—just look at those shades. They are absolutely perfect for a spring sweater. You can find this irregular winding yarn here.

The last irregular winding yarn cake was Marshmallow. Its pastel colors really shine in a lace pattern, making it perfect for a lightweight lace sweater for summer mornings. It’s a 1,500 m 3-ply yarn, and you can see the design here.

A new release we introduced in the podcast was a rainbow yarn cake called MIŠMAŠ. These yarn cakes will be available in a 1,000 m length, 3-ply, and no two cakes will ever be the same. Ivanka kindly gave me one Mišmaš yarn cake to test, and I was so captivated by the colors that I immediately put it on my hook. I’m currently crocheting a sweater with a circular yoke. The Mišmaš yarn cake will be available for purchase starting January 1, 2026, so be sure to keep an eye on the Hravá klubka e-shop—this one is truly worth it!

What brought me great joy this year was the Hravá klubka Advent Calendar. It was available to order only until the end of October, and you could choose between an Advent calendar with rainbow yarn cakes or hand-dyed skeins. I chose the rainbow yarn cakes and was able to select the color palette, so I went with dark green, light/natural, and pink. I must say that unwrapping the little bags of rainbow yarn cakes lifted my mood every single day during Advent.

Inside were 24 yarn cakes, 3-ply, 50 g / 250 m each. The colors are beautifully balanced, and together they form one large rainbow yarn cake split into 24 color transitions. When added up, this equals six 1,000 m rainbow yarn cakes. I don’t yet know exactly what I’ll make from 6,000 meters, but the experience alone was absolutely worth it. I highly recommend it—and I’ll definitely be getting another one next year.
