Moonlight Snowflake

Crochet snowflake pattern

In today’s video tutorial, we will crochet a delicate Christmas snowflake using Vlna Hep Moonlight yarn.

Vlna Hep Moonlight is a popular thin 100% cotton yarn (100 g / 550 m), perfect for crocheted doilies, tablecloths, and Christmas decorations. It’s also wonderful for lightweight summer clothing. Today, we’ll use this yarn to create a beautiful Christmas snowflake. It can decorate your Christmas tree, add charm to a wrapped gift, or be glued onto a handmade holiday card.

VIDEO TUTORIAL (ENGLISH SUBTITLES)

This snowflake is easy enough even for beginners. We crochet in the round with a 2 mm hook. Once the snowflake is finished, it only needs to be starched. For starching, I use slightly diluted Alba Efekt starch, a polystyrene board wrapped in plastic food wrap, and injection-needle pins for blocking — they do not rust.

The pattern uses basic stitches: chain (CH), single crochet (SC), and double crochet (DC). You can decorate the finished snowflake with a thin ribbon or jute twine. Optionally, add glitter and set it with hairspray for extra sparkle. You can try different colors of Vlna Hep Moonlight — red will also look wonderfully festive. I hope you enjoy making your Moonlight Snowflake!
