In today’s video tutorial, we’ll crochet a Christmas bauble with a diameter of 6 cm using simple arch stitches. For this project, we’ll use the fine cotton yarn Moonlight.
Vlna-Hep Moonlight comes in 100 g skeins with a length of 550 m. It’s made of 100% cotton and is perfect for light summer dresses, skirts, or tops. It’s also a popular choice for crocheting doilies, tablecloths, decorations, and dreamcatchers.
As for the bauble itself, you can use either clear two-piece components (for example, from Stoklasa) or classic colorful Christmas balls available in sets (for example, from Tesco).
We’ll start crocheting from a loose magic ring. After a few rounds, we’ll slip the crocheted “cover” over the hanging part of the bauble, tighten the magic ring, continue crocheting, and gradually decrease until the bauble is completely closed.

Size: Christmas bauble – 6 cm diameter

We start crocheting from a loose magic ring. You can find a tutorial on how to make it in the linked video. Continue crocheting in rounds. In the first two rounds, begin each round with a turning chain (2 CH instead of the first DC) and finish with a slip stitch (SS). The turning chain does not count as a stitch.
To finish each pattern round in the center of the arch, end the round with CH + HDC or CH + DC as needed.
Moonlight Crochet Bauble – Mesh Pattern
Hook: 2 mm
Round 1: Into a loose magic ring, make a starting chain (2 CH instead of the first DC), then crochet 12 DC, join with a SS.

Round 3: 1 CH, 4 CH, skip 1 stitch, SC into the next. Repeat around to form arches. The last arch: 2 CH, insert hook into the first CH of the round and make 1 HDC. You should end up in the center of an arch – place a stitch marker.

Round 11: 1 CH, SC under the next arch, repeat around. Join with a SS.
Round 12: 1 CH (acts as turning chain), SC in each stitch around. Join with a SS.
Finishing:
You can either close the opening by working three slip stitches together or use a yarn needle to tighten the hole with the tail end of the yarn.
