Free decorations are an essential part of Christmas, and today we’ll crochet a stylish little tree using a V-stitch pattern. It holds its shape perfectly without any starching!
For this project, I used YarnArt Macrame Cotton, but it also looks stunning in the lurex version. Macrame Cotton comes in 250 g skeins (225 m) and is made of 85% cotton and 15% polyester. The lurex version contains a metallic thread that gives a subtle sparkle. You can make about four trees from one skein, and thanks to the 4 mm crochet hook, the tree stands upright on its own.
As for the shape, the tree is crocheted from the top down and forms a cone. I used V-stitches made of half double crochets (hdc) to give the tree a textured, “needle-like” look. You can decorate it with beads, ribbons, or pearls – it’s all up to your imagination.
