The Sunday episode of the YarnTalk: Povídání u klubíčka podcast was dedicated to unboxing yarn cakes from Mrs. Milena Pierotka.
Mrs. Milena prepares yarn cakes made to order and focuses mainly on acrylic yarns, which are practical, easy to care for, and suitable for a wide range of crochet projects. If you are looking for colorful yarn cakes with the option of a custom length, her offer is definitely worth noticing. Visit her FB selling group Pleteme, háčkujeme, tvoříme a objednáváme s Milenou.
POVÍDÁNÍ U KLUBÍČKA #124 YARN TALK with Milena Pierotka (ENGLISH SUBTITLES)
Her range includes classic 100% acrylic yarn with lurex in a 50 g / 100 m skein. These yarn cakes are suitable for light garments. They are also ideal for accessories where easy maintenance meets a subtle decorative effect. Acrylic yarn is pleasant to work with, holds its shape well, and is suitable for everyday wear.
A new addition to her offer is rainbow melange yarn cakes made from 100% acrylic. These are three-ply yarns available in lengths from 100 m up to 1500 m. They are ideal for larger projects such as shawls, sweaters, or blankets.
They can also be used for smaller colorful accessories depending on the chosen stitch pattern. These yarn cakes are currently available at an introductory price of 5 euros for 1000 metres.
Mrs. Milena sells her yarn cakes through a Facebook group, where she personally arranges orders and prepares the yarn cakes according to individual wishes.
I started crocheting a sweater with an openwork stitch pattern from the acrylic yarn cakes, which I will be sharing with you soon. During the process I ran out of yarn and ordered more, which shows how well the yarn works in practice. For this sweater I am using a 8 mm crochet hook. If I were to crochet a hat from the same acrylic yarn, I would choose a 6 mm hook. For the rainbow melange three-ply yarn cakes, I would use a 3–4 mm hook depending on the stitch pattern.
If you missed the podcast live, I recommend coming back to it. The unboxing brought plenty of inspiration and practical tips for future crochet projects, and I am looking forward to showing you the finished sweater soon.
Wishing you happy crocheting with acrylic yarncakes!
